- Complete the Online Mississippi Notary Training Course (Not required by Mississippi)
- Complete the application available on the web-site. Supply all requested information.
- Obtain voter registration certification from the registrar, usually the circuit clerk of the county in which you are registered..
- Submit your original application with a $25 statutory fee to the Secretary of State, Notary Division, Post Office Box 136, Jackson Mississippi, 39205. The Secretary of State’s Office checks your application for completeness, signatures, and correct filing fee. The Secretary of State’s Office sends your application to the Governor’s Office for approval. A copy of your pre-certification is mailed to you for informational purposes.
- After you receive a copy of your pre-certification, obtain the proper surety bond ($5000) and oath.
- File the oath of office and an original bond with the Secretary of State’s Office. The Secretary of State’s Office mails your original commission to you.
- When you receive your original commission, mail a COPY of your commission to Notary.net and obtain a stamp and seal.
